Bruce Brand 63: Pretty vintage knitting pattern dress set 1974. This pattern is very easy to knit and as it is in double knitting it will knit up quite quickly, I have made this one and it is very pretty, I made it in modern 4ply for a new born. The pattern knitted in double knittinf fits 3-6 months. Always work a tension square to get size.

Bellmans 423: Very pretty vintage knitting pattern from min 1960's for romper and dress with sweet fair isle trim (can be ommitted)worked in vintage 4ply, in chest sizes 18"and 20" and 22" so would fit from 6 months to 18months work in modern 3ply and size smaller needles for newborn size. Always work a tension square and change needles if needed. Pattern is in good condion, apart from trade stamp to front, clean and sound.

Bestway 171: Lovely 1930's vintage knitting pattern for baby set for little boys. These little buster suits were popular from the Frist World War until after the Second World War and are very practical and are again becoming popular. The little shorts and jumpers are so cute and this little set has a jacket to match.The pattern is very simpe and typical of the 1930's. Knitted in vintage 3ply which would be similar to modern 4ply, always work a tension square and change needles to get size stated, or use modern 3ply to get a smaller size. To fit 20" chest.

Bestway 1428: Vintage baby knitting pattern. Another very sweet twosome, you could put a button at the neck of the lacy jacket quite easily. New born to 3 months size 18" chest. knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply or for a smaller size work in modern 3ply. Pattern from the early 1940's, possibly the late 1930's as they were often carried over due to the war and shortage of paper. Pattern in very good condition.

*Bestway 2329: Great vintage knitting pattern for baby from the 1940s. There are instructions for a matinee jacket, bonnet and bootees in vintage 3ply (modern 4ply) to fit 17" chest and instructions for the blanket worked in vintage 4ply (modern baby double knitting) Aleays work a tension square. The blanket measures 31.5 inches by 29 inches.

Bestway 2346.  The one everybody has been asking for! Blankets galore! 6 blankets to knit in 3ply, 4ply, kwiknit, and double knitting. One of them is in crochet.  The brushed rug is accomplished by brushing, after working with a teazal brush (available from a craft shop or from us). A few nicks and general wear but in good condition for its age - late 40's probably.

Bestway 2388.  This is a cute littlle pattern, these Bestway were such good value for money!  Here we have two matinee sets plus a pram blanket. to fit a 19-20 inch chest (birth to 6 months) knitted in modern 3ply pure wool will be newborn to 3 months. Pattern is in wonderful condition for over 60 years old!

*Bestway A2550:Fabulous vintage knitting pattern from the late 1940s for three little hug-me-tights. This is one of my favourite patterns and knits up beautifully. They are great in the summer and make lovely additon to any christening out fit if worked in pure baby wool for that creamy look or bright white synthetic yarn for a sparkle. This is a super pattern with instructions for a sweet little hot water bottle cover, cot cover with satin ribbon, shawl, sleeing bag and bootees and mittens- great little gifts for new born baby, also instructions for toy ball and rattle! Shawl and bootees and mitts are in vintage 3ply and measures43 square inches, all other are knitted in what was termed thicker wool - before double knitting was common. Work tension square on needle size stated and change if needed with modern double knitting yarn. These items would be great for that retro feel at a Christmas Bazaar.

This pattern was a reprint of one originally printed in the 1930s with little change, other than this pattern is in the new fangled double knitting! Always work a tension square to make sure you do not need to change needles. To fit 20-21 inch chest. But if you would like a smaller size try knitting on size 11(3mm) and 9s(3.75)mm in 4ply. The leggings in this pattern a great as they have a high waist so keep babies chest warm - straps can be added to make them easier to keep on. Pattern in super condition.

Bestway 3437. Vintage knitting patterns for baby. These Bestway designs are so very collectable, so pretty just to look at on a wet afternoon! I have hundreds of them and it is a real joy when I find one in lovely condition that I can sell on.  This little matinee and cardigan I actually knitted for my baby sister in the late 1950's when I was only 11years old! This particular pattern is in fabulous condition and knits up small enough for today's newborns.  It uses Quick Knitting which has no real equivalent today but try 4ply - make a tension square as described at the beginning of the pattern to see. A good substitute for Quick knit is a full round wool (if you compare wool strands you will see what I mean. (Quick knit was lighter and looser spun than 4ply or DK at the time.) This pattern is from the 1950's
