Vintage Knitting Patterns - Dolls Clothes (part 1 - A to D)

All Dolled Up: Vintage dolls knitting pattern from magazine from the early 1970's. There are three outfits to fit 7.5" twin dolls similar to the Rosebud dolls of the 1950/60's. They are knitted in 4ply and there are instructions for the two outfits seen here as well as a nightdress.

*Argyll 252: Vintage knitting pattern book from the 1970s with patterns for lacy baby doll set in double knitting to fit 12.5 inch and 16 inch doll. A track suit with hood, jumper, bobble hat and leggings with straps with fair isle detail. There are three sets for Sindy  or fashion doll 11"  Aran Sweater and Johdpurs, Track suit with hood, top and skirt. Also instrucutions  for  large knitted doll measuring 18" knitted in double knitting. Bairnswear 181:Vintage dolls knitting pattern for "Dolls Wooly Outfits" 1940/50s Not quite as rare as the two previous patterns but still greatly sought after. This consists of Coat, beret and shoes, jumper and shorts, jacket, leggings and pixie hood for 18" doll in vintage 3ply, try modern 4ply, I have found this knits better to the correct tension as most vintage 3ply wools were thicker than the modern 3ply. .

Bairnswear 1237:  Vintage knitted doll knitting pattern 1940. This doll is knitted in vintage 3ply or try modern 4ply to get the correct tension. All her clothes are knitted seperately and she measures 20.5 inches high. she has a dress, shoes, vest and pants and a coat and bonnet, she is adorable!

Bellmans 1222: lovely vintage pattern for dolls clothes in 4ply to fit 12 or 16 inch doll.  This is a very useful pattern comprising of dress, bootees, matinee coat, bonnet, mittens, leggings  and knickers with a lovely blanket to match. This pattern comes from 1970. I have an original of this  pattern produced by Copley.

Bellmans 1289:  Lovely vintage knitting pattern in 4ply.  Complete sets for boy or girl doll 16,18 or 20 inches tall. For the girl there is dress, cape, bonnet, bootees, underwear and for the little boy, trousers, bootees, jaumper, cardigan and hat. This is an updated version of 417, same items, just different front, this pattern is from the early 1970 Pattern is in fabulous condition.

Bestway 691: Vintage doll knitting pattern. To fit a 15" baby doll. This is a larger version 1527 (see below an original one now for sale) printed before the war when paper was not so difficult to find. It is in vintage 3ply and only take 4oz that is about 100g. But work tension square first to see if 4ply might work better or a change of needles. Bonnet, dress, undies jacket and bootees - simply stunning. Pattern is obviously showing wear but is sound and clean. 1930's

Bestway 1561: Vintage doll knitting pattern for a little16" baby boy doll, a complete set - coat, helmet, leggings, jumper, shorts, vest and shoes. Knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply in a tension square. .1930/40's I have one of these for sale, but it has a crease across the centreand a few minor splits at edges and2inch split at spine, but is clean and bright.

Bestway B2709: Vintage knitting pattern for doll. Delightful Little Red Riding Hood outfits to fit 10,14,and 16 inch dolls in vintage 3ply with small amount of 2ply. Try modern 4ply in a tension square it will probably knit to a better size. Cloak and hood, dress, petticoat, vest, panties, apron, shoes and basket. Very unusual. Trade stamp to front, some wear.

Bestway 2369: Vintage doll knitting pattern for great set for boy and girl dolls, from the late 1940's knitted in vintage 2ply (Try modern 3ply in a tension square as vintage 2ply was similar in thickness to modern 3ply) to fit 7 and 10 inch dolls. Boys set comprises of leggings, coat, bobble hat, Little girls dress, jacket, bonnet and bootees with under wear suitable for either. Original pattern has tiny split to spine and very minor creasing to front and small brown rust mark on last page does not interfer with text, slight discolouration to bottom edge of pattern.

Briggs 810: Vintage kntting pattern for Kathy Kruse style dolls. No height given but dress is  12" from shoulder to hem and chest 16", so quite a large doll. Boys Jacket is 7" shoulder to hem and shorts are waist to edge is 6" (could be between 20"-24" dolls?) Knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply or knit in modern 3ply for smaller size. Copley 663: Vintage doll knitting pattern for outfits for twin dollies: dress knickers, jumper and shorts and vest. No size given but look as though they are 12"-13" dolls.  Dress measures 8.5"  this is a pattern from the 1920's and the doll are probably celluloid - a very thin material that dented and split easily. Try mnodern 4ply for a better fit to size.

Copley 1829: Lovely old vintage doll pattern, very collectable, much sought after - Early 1950's pattern. Full layette including underwear and shawl, long dress, short dress, petticoat and matinee set. Just beautiful made up! Pattern states 2ply, try modern 3ply.  to fit a 12 inch doll - it fits my little 10" Rosebud just right knitted in 3ply pure wool (modern). And a bigger Roddy 12" in 4ply.

Dolly Trio: Vintage doll kntting pattern from the 1960's,  intructions for12", 14" and 16" dolls (larger size fits, Tiny Tears and Baby Born) there is  a shawl, dress matinee and bootees, bonnet, coat and leggings in nice simple lacy pattern.  This pattern is in 3ply,( modern 3ply merino that we have for sale works well, it is available in pastel shades and white or cream.)The shawl is 18" square.
