Bairnswear 2214: Pretty vintage knitting pattern for fair isle jumper with short sleeves, to fit bust 34"-35" easy to knit a cardigan to match, transfer the sleeve border to the cardigan to give it a link. The original colours used for this one were natuaral (fawn) back ground with burgandy, rose, royal blue and maple (not sure what that colour was, probably a purple/red like the maple leaves) .1940's

Bestway 913: Lovely Vintage knitting pattern for unusual jumper design. This design is actually worked after the jumper has been knitted. Known a s darning, this is so simple but effective for those who find fair a bit daunting. A thread of colour ios just threaded through the stitches in diagonal lines to cread this stunning effect. To fit 34"-36" bust, very easy to increase the size of this one by adding a few stitches as the basic pattern is so simple. Bestway 1721: Great cardigan pattern with fair isle border to match the jumper above - at last, been trying to find this one for a while. I like to get the twinsets together when I can. This is from the 1940's and is knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply in a tension square. It actually says in the instructions, if you use 8 (4mm) needles it will knit up to 43" bust! The actual pattern calls for size 11 (3mm) and 13 (2.25mm) for the ribs.  LARGER SIZE pattern in good condition

Bestway 1744: Great collectable vintage fair isle knitting pattern, this one says designed in Paris. Late 1930's, has a little bonnet to match, these were so popular during the 30's and 40's my mother said she had quite a few, they were warm and practical as well as easy to knit. This pattern actually has a chart as well as written instructions, I know some of you prefer them, but it is just as easy to knit from the written words. This long sleeved jumper fits 35"-37" bust, so just a change up to size 10(3.25mm) will give you that bit more room. As this is in vintage 3ply try tension square in modern 4ply and see if this is a better fit. The original, the pattern states was knitting in black and yellow, but  how christmassy would this look in red and white? pattern is a little worn at spine with split at top and bottom of spine, other wise clean and sound as shown.

Bestway 1750: Lovely vintage fair isle knitting pattern for ladies jumper long or short sleeves from the 1940's. In great condition. To fit 34" bust, knitted in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply, or for a larger size try modern double knitting on same needles, on size larger  needles for even bigger size. Work a tension square on wool you have chosen and needles suitable for that ply and see how many stitches you work to the inch, multiply stitches by the inches you need and work accordingly. This is a nice easy style to do this with as it has a slash neck set in sleeves. Pattern in nice condition, a few brown marks where the chart is but not detrimental to the pattern.

Bestway 2094: Great vintage knitting pattern for a fair isle jumper with sweet little true-love knots as the design, to fit a 34" bust worked on size imperial 11 (3mm), bust size 36" is worked from the same pattern but using 10 imperials or 3.25mm and for a 38" bust use size 9 or 3.75mm. This pattern shows how easy it is to make a bigger size simply by using a bigger needle size. Try your tensions square with modern 4ply, this will work better than modern 3ply which is thiner ply than the vintage 3ply.1940's
