Bestway 1234CH: Fair Isle beret and cap for little ones. This pattern is designed to fit 4-6 years. There is a lovely beret and simple little cap. Knitted on two needeles. The Beret measures 13 inches round head band but will stretch to 20 inches easily. Knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply. The Juliet cap measures about 18 inches round band and is 4.5 inches from top to outside edge. Bestway 1508CH: Lovely beret and gloves design from the 1930's. The beret measures 9.5 inches across the crown and 15.5 inches around the head band. The gloves 9 inches from tip of middle finger to wrist edge of cuff. Knitted in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply for a better fit as old 3ply was similar to modern 4ply. *Bestway 1568: Fabulous vintage knitting pattern for girl's beret and gloves from the very early 1940's as the war began to have an effect on wool. Most supplies were being used for the milatary and it was difficult to get supplies, especially in good colours - so unpicking and recyling got under way and gave rise to an increase in beautiful fair isle patterns. These small, beautiful patterns are difficult to get in such a lovely condition as they were well used and passed round families. This one is in lovely condition, clean and bright. The beret and gloves are knitted in vintage 3ply so will come up better to size in modern 4ply, also a better range of colours available. From late 1930's The band of the beret will comfortable expand to 18 inches. for the smaller size use a smaller needle, an even larger size can be made by casting on more stitches and working an extra poodle design giving an extra 2 inches. There are two designs ion this one the other one is a much simpler style of fair isle. These were often known as Norwegian or Dutch bonnets. Bestway 2705. Here we have a stunning bonnet pattern for that really retro look! This pattern is in super condition and the bonnets will fit 12 to 24 months in 3ply. If knitted in pure new 3ply wool they will come up a little smaller and fit from 6 months (depending on babies head size!) I have knitted them in 2ply modern pure new wool and they fitted a new born. Copley 3086: This is a fabulous pattern from the 1940's. There are instructions for a beret, a stocking cap and mittens in fair isle to fit 8-10 years. Knitted in vintage 3ply, try modern 4ply and for a larger size try double knitting or larger needles.The stocking cap is so easy even for a novice fair ilse knitter and caneasily be made to fit an adult. Knitted on size 13 and 12 imperial needles, work tension square and adjust to get right size or size you would like, if trying to make larger size you will need a little more wool. *Weldons 872: This lovely vintage knitting pattern is for beret and bonned with mittens in two differnt designs. Pattern from the late - 1930's - the late 1940's. I have examples of the early one issued in the 1930's as shown and the later one with a red banner issued after the war, both in lovely condition, both knitted on two needles in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply to get a good fit.
