This is a lovely pattern, the cape has an extravagant satin bow, which can be replaced with more decorous hidden hook and eye or retro 1930 large glass or china button and there are instructions for a hood as well. This pattern is for Angora, so would be in similar to 4ply, you could use a ready fluffy fancy yarn or snow flake type or you could brush plain 4ply pure wool once knitted with a teasel brush, or use real angora - try Okney Angora, lovely range of colour in 4ply and double knitting. Lavenda 406: Pretty vintage knitting patten for ladies hat and gloves from the 1950s- great Christmas present- knitted in vintage 2ply and 3ply so that would be modern 3ply and 4ply (it is the contrast in the thinner ply so you could just as easy knit it all in the thicker ply if you wanted to) to fit average head. Pattern is a bit yellowed with age and has a trade stamp to front.

A pretty pull on cap in double knitting with ribbon trim, a shaggy loopy beret (fun to knit and very fashionable) and the beautiful pancake beret as they were called. I love this pattern.

Lee Target 6024: Fabulous 1960's vintage knitting pattern for fashion hats - I wore one very similar to the brushed white one in the picture to my wedding in 1965. There are 7 designs in this leaflet, see below for three more, the other one is in black and white check then brushed. Brushing is done with a teezel brush, obtainable from craft shops and some knitting shops. (used to brush soft toys) Pattern has crease down centre but not shown here, but clean and sound.
