Patons 648: Vintage knitting pattern for a jumper and zip cardigan. The sweater has traditional patterns as used in fishing sweaters but knitted in vintage 4ply, try a tension square an see if modern double knitting might work better, remember for this one the fabiric needs to be more solid than normal, so smaller needles are required . The zipperjacket has a fair isle panel across the yoke and down fronts and is knitted in vintage quickerknit so would probably knit well in modern double knitting, but again work a tension square to see. 1950's. Patons 6699: Fabulous wartime pattern for all that a man away in the services could need - woman knitted not only for their own men folk but for others who had now female relatives. Even young girls at school knitted mittens, helmets, socks and scarves for sailors, airman and soldiers. This one is called Service Woolies for Air, Land and Sea. Garments call for double knitting vintage 4ply, and vintage 3ply - something for everybody. Just what a group that does displays or re-encatments needs.
