Sirdar 2461: Fabulous vintage knitting pattern for dolls layette. One of my personal favourites! I made this for my daughter over 43 years ago! and again for my grand-daughter 18 years later! Usually these turn up in quite a sad state - this one is nice and clean, and uncreased, slight wear to spine as can be seen in photocograph dated 1967. 8 pages for a delightful layette. In 3ply for 14 and 16 inch dolls. 1960's First appeared in a magazine the 1950's esecially for the Pedigree baby dolls - I have the original which was produced for the16 and 20" baby, which I had as a child in the early 1950's, and still have. It was produced by Wife and Home and also had a jersy and pants set for a baby boy, a dress set to be sewn and a crib to be made, which my father made for me. Knitted in vintage 4ply try modern double knitting just in case this works more to the size, and a small amount of 30r 3ply for the frill on the bonnet.
