Sirdar 2461: One of my personal favourites! I made this for my daughter over 40 years ago! and again for my grand-daughter 18 years later! Usually these turn up in quite sad state - this one is nice and clean, and uncreased, except for protective tape to spine, almost invisible and shop stap. dated 1967. 8 pages for a delightful layette. In 3ply for 14 and 16 inch dolls. 1960's First appeared in a magazine the 1950's esecially for the Pedigree baby dolls - I have the original which was produced for the16 and 20" baby, which I had as a child, and still have. It was produced by Wife and Home and also had a jersy and pants set for a baby boy, a dress set to be sewn and a crib to be made, which my father made for me. Sirdar 7698. A nice pattern for 12 and 14 inch dolls from the late 1950's. The dress has beads knitted into it, but can be sewn on afterwards. Weldons 402: Slim booklet with 27 pages of patterns and adverts from the 1959. Cover is loose and the staples are rusty, but the contents are clean and sound with a little wear to the cover. Below are several photos of contents. Inside there is pattern for duffle coat, trews and jumper ( and shoes), beret and jacket with leggings, dresss, coat, shoes and matinee bonnet, and leggings, all to fit 10, 12 and 14 inch dolls. Then there is a dress, bonnet, bootees, matinee, knickers, for 16 and 20 inch dolls. To make the booklet complete dear old teddy has not been forgotten and there is a jumper and pants set for a baby boy bear with chest size 11.5, 15, 19.5 inches.

Long layette takes 6 oz (3 x 50gms balls) (I used modern 3ply Patons pure wool) the short layette takes 4oz or 2x 50gm balls. Bonnet half ounce of angora (10gms) The doll pictured is also knitted, instructions given to make a 10 inch little soft doll - great baby christening gift!
